Since April 1st, VAT has been increased.
We can see such panels in many shops. Since April 1st, VAT has been increased in Japan, from 5% to 8%. This is unpopular in Japan.
The best way to see this increase is this panel in front of a hyaku-en shoppu (100-yen shop), where we can find everything for 100 yens (0,70 euros). Be carreful, it’s 100 yens without duty ! Before April 1st, you buy something for 105 yens, and now, it’s 108 yens. We can understand why japanese people dont like it.
In France, we had an increase of 0,4%, it’s less than 3%, but we now have 20% VAT…
